Day 55 - A moment of quiet

Only three more sleeps until the BIG day!! Are you ready? Have you made all your preparations? Do you still have a smile on your face and feel love in your heart? Or has the busyness and stress of the season caught up with you?

Let’s take time in amongst all that’s going on to be with the Lord in prayer and to ask for his love to continue to be in our hearts in all we do.

Lord, as we prepare to celebrate Christmas, may we do more than get our houses ready, buy the food and wrap the presents. Lord, give us the time to prepare our hearts to be a place of welcome for Jesus once more.

Help us as we get ready to welcome our families and friends to join in the celebration. Let us also remember and encourage and cherish those who find Christmas so difficult. We pray for those who will be separated from loved ones, because of work or fallings out, because of bereavement or illness, because of loss and missing love. Lord, help us to do our part to be the comfort and help that they may need.

Lord, in the busyness we may experience in the coming days, help us never to be too busy to be the love that is needed in any situation. May we be aware of places where your love is missing and be able to make a difference to anyone who is struggling.

Help us to bring love to all our relationships, particularly those we find difficult, and those that make us stressed. Lord, put your love in our hearts and help us to share it with those who need it most.

Lord, may your love shine in our hearts throughout the festive period and into the New Year beyond, so that everything we do will bring glory to you.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
