Day 31 - Speak the truth in love

Writer: Congregational FederationCongregational Federation

7 days without prayer makes one weak!!

On Fridays through our ASecludedPlace reflections we focus on prayer. Often prayer is the only thing we can do and we can often underestimate the power and difference it can make.

Let’s come before God today and give him some quality time.

Search me, God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NIVUK)

None of us are perfect let’s share our weaknesses, faults and inadequacies with God.

Tell him what or who makes you angry or frustrated.

Tell him who you struggle to get along with.

Say sorry for the times recently you’ve not been Christ like.

Think if there are things done that have not been kind to the earth.

Jesus loves us as we are, so it’s good to confess and let go of our wrong doing.

Receive God’s forgiveness and peace as you say sorry.

We will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Tell God about your church, what do you love about it.

Tell God what frustrates you about it and what you would like to change.

Ask Jesus about how you can pray more for your church in your day to day life.

Pray for better relationships and communications in your church, pray for your minister, deacons and all those with responsibilities.

Pray new people will come to your church and that they will feel welcomed.

Pray for a mighty movement of the Holy Spirit in your church and community.

Thank God for the freedom to worship.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬
