“Why does it always happen to me?”

“Why does it always rain on me?”

“Its just my luck.”

“Things can’t get any worse.”

I am sure we have all said these things, haven’t we? Said a prayer to God: “I cannot take anymore Lord.”

From a personal point of view, 2025 was one of the hardest years of my life for one reason or another. However, my faith always remained strong, believing in the Lord that he would support my family and I through whatever may come.

How many peoples in the Bible can you name that had their faith tested by God? Let me help you with a few ...

Abraham: His faith was tested when God asked him to sacrifice his son Isaac, demonstrating his unwavering trust in God.

Job: He faced immense suffering and loss, yet he remained faithful to God despite his trials.

The Israelites in the Wilderness: Their journey through the wilderness was a collective test of faith as they faced challenges and doubts.

John the Baptist: He wrestled with his faith while imprisoned, questioning if Jesus was truly the Messiah.

Peter: He denied Jesus three times, but later reaffirmed his faith and became a leader in the early church.

Mary: Her son was crucified and died in front of her, something no parent should ever have to witness.

And let’s not forget the cry that Jesus made on the cross: “Why Lord have you forsaken me?”

I am someone who likes to think positive even when my world is crashing all around me, and one song that has really helped me through the darkest of times is I get what I need by Collin Raye. I have attached this as I would love to raise its profile and would love for it to help others.

The Chorus:

'Cause I prayed for strength

And I got pain that made me strong

I prayed for courage

And I got fear to overcome

When I prayed for faith

My empty heart brought me to my knees

I don't always get what I want

I get what I need

If you're feeling stuck and hoping for relief, try considering new perspectives. It isn't that God ignores our prayers or shuts doors on us; instead, we must trust his plan, knowing our lives are already laid out by him. Whatever difficulties arise, remember you have the strength to overcome them, as you've always found a way through your hardest times.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come to you in prayer today to ask that you would be with us and help and guide us through every painful place we may be in. We pray for those who deem that there is no other way and cannot see any sense of hope or light. We pray that you will be with them and guide them. Amen.
