Day 34 - Listen!

The CF Bible Study held on a Monday afternoon is currently reading through the book of Isaiah - so as you can imagine it’s quite a challenge.
One of the things we have noticed is how many times we are told to listen - yet we acknowledged we probably don’t listen enough.
I have picked a few verses from Isaiah from this week’s chapters. Read the passages quietly and slowly, then take time to listen to what God is saying to you through his word:
God has told his people
Here is a place of quiet rest, let the weary rest here
This is a place of quiet rest but they would not listen
Isaiah 28 v12
Listen to this message from the Lord
I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.
Isaiah 28 v16
Then everyone who has eyes will be able to see the truth and everyone who has ears will be able to hear it
Isaiah 32 v3
O Lord I will honour you and praise your name for you are my God
You do such wonderful things
You planned them long ago
And now you have accomplished them
Isaiah 25 v1
“Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God!”
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
Isaiah 40:3 & 8 NLT
Father God
Clear my mind and help me to listen for your voice, speak clearly to me.
Help me to be still and listen just for you.
You always make a way for me so help me make a way and a space for you today.
In the name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
For God is working in you giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
Philippians 2 v 13
