Day 94 - Pause, rejoice, ask & yield

I am working through The Prayer Course by Pete Greig – here is the link if you would like to find out more About | The Prayer Course - The Prayer Course.

Pete uses the letters PRAY to help us to pray with focus:

P - Pause before you pray - Be still and know that He is God

R- Rejoice - give God praise and thanks

A - Ask - tell God your worries and needs

Y- Yield - listen for God voice and say Yes to Him

So as we pray today for our Queen on this Platinum Jubilee long weekend let’s use this method

Dear God

We pause as we pray, we breath you in and thank you for your presence with us - still our hearts and minds as we rest in you.

“Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46 v10a NLT

We Praise you for your greatness and goodness for your majesty and splendour.

We thank you for Queen Elizabeth II - we thank you for her long reign, her faithfulness to her reign, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. We thank you for her love for you and how she has shared her faith and encouraged others in their faith. We thank you for her wisdom and how she has helped so many people including prime ministers and government officials around the world.

“Always be full of joy in the Lord, I say it again – rejoice” Philippians 4 v4 NLT

On this Jubilee weekend we ask you to give her strength, to be present at all the celebrations she needs to attend. We pray there will be joy and that she enjoys all events. We pray for all the events to go to plan, people are kind to each other, community events bring people together and new friendships are formed. We pray protection and peace.

We pray for all the events that will happen in our churches and we pray more people come to know you because of them.

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for” Matthew 7 v 7a NLT

We love to receive from you, so help us to hear your voice and do your will. We want to honour you and build and share your kingdom, so speak clearly to us. Open our hearts and minds as we give your our praise - we bless your holy name and say yes to your plans for our church, our communities, our lives.

“Go yourself and listen to what the Lord our God says” Deuteronomy 5 v27a NLT

Amen
