Psalm 33:6 “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host.”

Most people have their favourite season of the year. Living in a rural community, it is quite easy to choose for we are surrounded by such beauty. Some people, like myself favour Springtime, mainly because we have come out of winter and there is a definite freshness about the world as we observe the numerous colours of green, the freshness of spring flowers and often the weather to compliment it. It gives us all the feel-good factor which is important after a long winter. It is amazing how the seasons seem to run into each other, you are celebrating summer then one day there is a hint of autumn in the air. Our Heavenly Father knows about that, after all he created the seasons.

Ralph Carmichael was an American composer who wrote a song in the 60’s which was to become very popular at that time and speaks of his stamp on creation when he writes:

In the stars His handiwork I see

On the winds He speaks of majesty

Though He ruleth over land and sea

What is that to me

I will celebrate nativity

For it has its place in history

Sure He came to set His people free

What is that to me

Till one day I met Him face to face

And I sought the wonder of His grace

Then I knew that He was more than

Just a God who didn't care

That lived away up there, and

Now He walks beside me day by day

Ever watching o'er me lest I stray

Helping me to find that narrow way

He's everything to me

Interesting lyrics aren’t they? They show us there is more to creation. When we talk about creation, we tend to concentrate on what we can see around us and what we relate to, the country smells, the wind on the face but hang on a minute for we as individuals come into this as well.

Psalm 139:14 makes the well-known statement, "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well."

I find this verse comforting especially when you feel you don’t fit in with or go with the flow of some folks and you feel out of it. A verse like this can be such an uplift. God made us so there is only one of you and only one of me, but made by the same creator. As you go about your day and face the fun it may bring remember you were created in Gods image. Hold your head high for the one who placed you in the situation is the same one who will bring you through it.

I feel another hymn coming on:

Ask the Saviour to help you, Comfort, strengthen and keep you;

He is willing to aid you, He will carry you through.

Enjoy your day
