Day 69 - Fix your thoughts on...

Happy Monday! Hope you have had a great weekend.

I love listening to Premier Praise - especially Josh Carr in the afternoons. He always asks on a Monday what was your takeaway from the weekend? What did you learn at church or what will help you through the week?

I was at Brierley Green celebrating their 200th Anniversary last Sunday and at the end the Minister Rob Cross said:

"As you go remember we haven’t just been to church, we are the church and when the church is the Church,

It is nothing more,

It is nothing less,

It is nothing other,

than the presence of Christ through people.

Go into the world and be the church through the transforming love of Jesus!"

That was my takeaway! I thought, Yes! I need to remember that wherever I go and whatever I do this week I’m representing Jesus and his church.

Monday has a mindfulness focus and it’s important to keep our minds healthy. Poppy and I have Joyce Meyer’s children’s edition of Battlefield of the Mind. The first chapter focussed on the verse in Philippians 4 v 8 NLT

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

The chapter tells us to ask ourselves the question when we have doubts or negative thoughts is it true? Is it honourable, right, pure, lovely or admirable? If not forget it. It’s easy to think negatively, worry or be anxious but we must train our mind however hard that is to fix our minds on what God says and what God says about us.

The truth is Jesus loves you

You are a child pf God

You are worthy

You have the promise of eternal life through belief in Jesus

Jesus is the way the truth and the life

God is good
