Day 46 - It’s all about Jesus

Holy Saturday, I believe, should be a quiet day of contemplation.
The day after Jesus had been crucified, it lends itself to be a day to reflect. I know for some of us that can be difficult as life is so full and busy. But I encourage you to stop now for a few minutes and listen to this song in quiet reflection.
The Heart of Worship was the first song that I thought of for this ASecludedPlace reflection. It was written by Matt Redman after his church was going through some disagreements about song choices and worship styles. They decided to not have any music or singing for a number of weeks to help them reflect on the meaning of church.
Matt’s recollection of writing the song is him scribbling it down quickly in his bedroom soon after the church’s journey back to its core purpose. There were no grand intentions for it to become an international anthem. The words were simply his personal response to what he was learning about worship.
When the music fades, all is stripped away, and I simply come
Longing just to bring something that’s of worth that will bless your heart
I’m coming back to the heart of worship, and it’s all about You, Jesus
What’s worship like in your church?
Do you need to come back to Jesus on this special day of stillness?
He is near waiting for you and listening.
He loves you, loves you so much he died for you.
As you listen to the song spend some time being still in the presence of Jesus.
Thank God for your church; your worship, your organ and organist, your musicians or band, even your Hymnal Plus and YouTube - not forgetting the people who set it up and press the button so it works.
Say sorry to God if worship has lost its purpose for you, talk to God about how you feel about church and how you can come back to the heart of worship.
Come back to the heart of worship.
It’s all about Jesus.
Sunday is coming!
