On International Women in Music Day, let’s use this song “My Jesus” written by Anne Wilson, as a way of bringing our prayers.

Are you past the point of weary?

      Is your burden weighing heavy?

Is it all too much to carry?

Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus

Lord, you know the burdens we bear today. You know the things on our minds and the ways that we are kept from you. You know what we are carrying.

Help us this day to lay those burdens at your feet, to know your presence with us and to trust you in all we do.

Do you feel that empty feeling?

'Cause shame's done all its stealing

And you're desperate for some healing

Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus

Lord, you know those things we have done which we regret. You know the times we have not loved and served as we should. You know the healing that we need.

Help us this day to turn to you, to feel your healing and to set off again with you at our side.

Who can wipe away the tears

From broken dreams and wasted years

And tell the past to disappear? Oh

Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus

Lord, you know the tears we have shed. You know the things that have caused us pain. You know our pasts and our histories, the things we would rather hide from you.

Help us to bring them into the open, to acknowledge and move on and to stop regretting what we cannot change.

And all the wrong turns that you would

Go and undo if you could

Who can work it all for your good

Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus

Lord, you know the many times we have gone in the wrong direction. You know the many choices we have made which we wish we could unmake. You know the ways we have let you and others down.

Help us to turn again to follow you, to listen for your guidance in the decisions we make and to look to show you to those we meet.

His love is strong and His grace is free

And the good news is I know that He

Can do for you what He's done for me

Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus

And let my Jesus change your life

      Hallelujah, hallelujah

      Hallelujah, amen, amen

And let my Jesus change your life

Thank you, Lord, for all you are, all you mean and all you do. May we know your love and your ability to bring about changes in our hearts and our lives. May you, Jesus, change my life! For it is in your precious name that we pray. Amen
