Day 71 - All the best!

‘Set up road signs, put up guideposts. Take note of the highway, the road you will take.’

Jeremiah 31:21

A few weeks ago, my son took his driving theory test. In the run up to the day we practiced using a number of different websites and road sign manuals. Circles do this, triangles do that, etc. Pleased to say, he passed! That’s the easy bit, now out onto the open road.

Best of luck! All the best! Three little words that express a feeling of wanting the best for people for what lies ahead. Although we never really know what lies around the corner, expressions of good wishes and warm thoughts are extended toward us and many others. In truth, we don’t really know, there is uncertainty, there could be doubt, even fear of what lies ahead.

Over the holiday period I heard about an app for your phone entitled, ‘What3Words’. It has been around for quite some time. The company has divided the world up into 3m squares with a unique combination of three words. Their proud boast is that with the app, ‘It’s easy to find, share and save precise locations, never get lost again.’ Really? I find myself frequently getting lost and needing to discover the way.

Lost in the uncertainty of doubt, loneliness and despair or wanting to discover the way of love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Getting lost can sometimes be a learning experience, a discovery of new ways, insights, and a chance to find out about ourselves. I wonder what three words you would use to describe yourself? Would they match with three words other people would use to describe you?

God say’s we are loved, accepted, and forgiven, three little words which remain with us always. Whatever lies ahead.

A Prayer

Dear Lord, you grant us a knowledge of your love and acceptance, you reassure us of your forgiveness, may we put our trust in you today. Help us to walk step by step in the knowledge of your presence, wherever we find ourselves, and to look for the signs of your leading and guidance, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
