Day 43 - See the world differently

Later this month the world is coming to Liverpool - it will sit on the water in the Albert Dock! It’s a piece of art being displayed as the city hosts the Eurovision Song Contest.

We will see the world in a completely different way. To see the world differently can be challenging but can also be beautiful.

The teachings of Jesus are constantly trying to help us see life differently. My daughter Poppy has been asking me what Jesus would have been doing this week in Holy Week. We opened our bible to read what happened after the triumphant entry in Luke 20 and 21. We read about how Jesus was teaching in the temple and the people were hanging on his every word. Jesus wanted people to see the world in a new way and make positive changes. We read the widow’s offering together. Jesus was chatting with those around him watching people, he saw the rich put lots of money in the treasury and the woman put in only 2 copper coins. Jesus was asking us to see the scene differently. He asks a question, ‘who gave the most?’ Jesus saw that it was the woman who had given more because she had given all she had.

Do you like people watching? Does it cause you to wonder and ask questions? How might the teachings of Jesus help you to see others differently? How might you see the world differently knowing “… God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

Let us acknowledge the Lord;

let us press on to acknowledge him.

As surely as the sun rises,

he will appear;

he will come to us like the winter rains,

like the spring rains that water the earth.

Hosea 6:3 (NIVUK)

Take some time this week to stop and watch, look at nature, watch others, observe people coming and going? What do you see and if Jesus was sat beside you would he show you a different angle?

I pray you have a wonderful Easter and if you fancy a trip to Liverpool to see the world then get in touch.
